No more paper chaos.
Communal catering today runs on paper, phone calls and Excel — with CateringOS it runs on one shared, traceable process.
Today
- Menu plans on paper, changes passed along by phone
- Allergen labelling by hand — every recipe a compliance risk
- Billing in Excel, service statements missing or late
With CateringOS
- Weekly plan with diet types (vegan, halal, pureed …) and an approval workflow
- Allergens and nutrition calculated automatically from ingredients — ~7,140 standard ingredients included
- Service statements per facility at the click of a button — prepared for confirmation by both sides
How you work with CateringOS.
Three stops from everyday kitchen work — from the weekly plan to the service statement. Keep scrolling; the interface works along.
01 · Menu plan
Plan the week — with drag & drop.
Diet types as rows, days as columns: simply drag recipes into the weekly plan. Allergens travel along automatically, and the approval records who decided what, and when.
02 · Recipes
Nutrition and allergens calculate themselves.
Add the ingredients, done: CateringOS calculates nutrition per 100 g cooked and derives the 14 EU allergens straight from the ingredients — based on around 7,140 standard ingredients.
03 · Service statement
The service statement writes itself.
The approved plan becomes the monthly service statement per facility — prepared for confirmation by both sides, without Excel and without paper.

One system, six modules.
Everything connects: what the kitchen plans, facilities and families will soon see directly in the portal — billing happens along the way. Menu planning and service statements are live today; the other modules are being built at no extra cost for existing customers.

Your data. Your control. In Germany.
At CateringOS, data protection is architecture, not a checkbox.
Hosted in Germany
All data lives and stays in German data centres — from the application down to the entire infrastructure. No data flows to third countries.
GDPR by default
A digital data processing agreement from day one, every security- and contract-relevant change logged tamper-proof, and every business sees only its own data. We supply the evidence your data protection officer will ask for.
The facility owns its data
Personal data belongs to the facility — not to the caterer and not to us. The kitchen only sees anonymous numbers, such as how many meals a group needs. Never names.
Built for accessibility to WCAG 2.2 AA / BITV — from the kitchen tablet to a parent’s phone.

Frequently asked questions
Do parents pay anything?
No, never. Neither parents nor facilities pay anything — the caterer is the only payer. There are no service fees per meal.
Are there per-meal costs?
No. CateringOS is a fixed monthly price per plan — regardless of how many meals you plan, cook or bill.
What counts as a facility?
A location with its own menu plan — for example a nursery, a school or a residential unit with its own planning. Every plan includes a fixed number of facilities; each additional one is €39/month.
Are there facility fees?
No. Facilities pay nothing — neither for access nor per meal. There are no setup fees either.
Where is the data stored?
Exclusively in German data centres — from the database and backups to software delivery. The facility keeps control of its data: the kitchen only sees numbers, never names. A data processing agreement (DPA) is signed digitally during onboarding.
How do I get started — and how do my existing recipes come in?
After you order, we usually get back to you within one business day, sign the DPA digitally and set up your access. During onboarding we transfer your existing recipes and menu plans into the system together with you — you don’t start from zero, and you can keep working with your old system in parallel until everything fits.
How do I reach support?
By email at software@microcoding.de — during the pilot phase the development team itself answers, in German or English, usually within one business day. “Priority support” in the Premium plan means your requests are handled first.
Who is CateringOS for?
For caterers and large kitchens, for facilities such as nurseries, schools and care homes — and for organisations, associations or municipalities that want to organise catering centrally. Diet types such as pureed or strained food are supported just like orders placed by parents or relatives; multi-facility structures and dedicated environments are designed for rolling CateringOS out across all of an organisation’s facilities together with its caterers.
Which diet types and allergens are supported?
The menu plan covers lines such as standard, vegetarian, vegan, pork-free and halal as well as texture levels (soft, pureed, strained) — including care and senior catering. All 14 EU allergens are derived automatically from recipe ingredients and shown as labelling.
How do recipes and nutrition get into the system?
You create recipes with ingredients and quantities — CateringOS calculates nutrition (calories, protein, fat, carbohydrates and more) automatically, based on around 7,140 standard ingredients from the German federal food database, including conversion to cooked weight. Data basis: BLS 4.0, © Max Rubner-Institut, licensed CC BY 4.0.
Which languages does CateringOS support?
The product interface is available in German and English today; French, Spanish and Italian are planned. This website already exists in all five languages, and content such as allergen names is stored in four languages — parents and relatives should see the menu plan in their own language.
Can parents order themselves?
The parent portal (view the menu plan, order, report absences) is currently in development and will arrive with the Professional plan — always free for parents. In care homes, relatives or the facility take on this role.
Is CateringOS accessible?
CateringOS is built to WCAG 2.2 AA / BITV — from contrast and keyboard operation to touch targets for the kitchen tablet. Accessibility is a requirement for us, not a retrofit.
Ready for less paper?
